Belt filters: Vacuum filters (fuf)
Coolant lubricants used in machining primarily serve to dissipate heat generated during processing, reduce friction between the tool and work piece, and transport chips away. Such lubricants only ensure optimum cooling and lubrication performance if they are thoroughly cleaned. The service life of cooling lubricants is decisively extended by careful cleaning. This contributes both to achieving better surface qualities during machining and to greater cost-benefit efficiency.
FAUDI vacuum filters can be used universally. They are suitable for cleaning the cutting, grinding and rolling oils, emulsions and aqueous solutions. The range of separation is
20 to 100 μm depending on the material being processed, the machining process and the filter material used. The modular design makes it possible to adapt the filtration capacity from 100 l/min to 20,000 l/min.

The contaminated coolant lubricant is conveyed from the machine tool or machine tools via the connecting pipelines into the dirt tank of the vacuum filter. The dirt tank is the upper part of the vacuum filter and is seperated from the vacuum chamber by a perforated plate or slotted sieve layer on which the filter fleece, or endless belt is placed. By means of a filter and a supply pump, which is connected to the vacuum chamber and generates a corresponding vacuum, the contaminated cooling lubricant is sucked through the filter medium into the vacuum chamber and cleaned in the process At the same time, the filter and supply pump convey the previously cleaned coolant lubricant from the vacuum chamber back to the machine tool. Thereby a partial flow of the supply line is used to fill the compensation tank with cleaned coolant lubricant in order to ensure an uninterrupted supply line to the machine tools when regeneration is pending.
Depending on the processing, the regeneration of the filter is initiated when the specified vacuum in the vacuum chamber or a preconfigured filtration time is reached. Here, by opening the shut-off valve in the bypass line between the compensation tank and the vacuum chamber, clean cooling lubricant is conveyed from the compensation tank into the vacuum chamber. This means that the supply of clean cooling lubricant is not interrupted, even during regeneration. The dirty nonwoven or endless belt is carefully ejected out of the filter together with the filter cake by rotary scrapers in the filter. The design and construction of the filter ensures at all times that there is no relative movement between the filter medium and the rotary scrapers that could damage the belt. The dirt is separated from the filter medium at the discharge by scrapers and conveyed from the system into containers provided by the customer. While after scraping off the dirt, the used nonwoven material is rolled up by a winder, the endless belt, on the other hand, is returned to the system.
